A common mode choke (CMC) for data lines is an electromagnetic component designed to suppress common mode electromagnetic interference (EMI) and noise in data communication lines. It consists of multiple windings of wire around a common magnetic core, typically ferrite, and is used to filter out unwanted common mode signals while allowing the differential mode signals (the actual data signals) to pass through with minimal interference.
